The Practice does provide travel advice to patients.  To ensure your safety abroad we advise you to contact a Private Travel Clinic who will carry out a full risk assessment for your travel destination.  Private travel clinics may charge a consultation fee but this can sometimes be offset against any charges for vaccination.  We can provide you with a record of the immunisations you have already to take with you.

We are able to provide some vaccines free of charge as an NHS service (Diphtheria Tetanus & Polio, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Cholera & Smallpox). If you require any of these the travel clinic can refer you back to the Surgery to have these done. The Practice Nurse will need to see written evidence, from the clinic, of the vaccinations you have been advised to have.

Some vaccines, however, are not available at the Surgery and you will need to pay the private travel clinic to have these done.  These include Hepatitis B, Meningitis ACWY, Rabies, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, and Tic Borne Encephalitis.

Travel clinics can also advise on, and provide, malaria and period delay medication.
